In 2002 the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners reported that fraud and abuse were costing employers an average of 6 percent of revenue. The same report revealed that small businesses (less than 100 employees) were most at risk. More then half the frauds in the study caused losses of at least $100 000 with one in six causing losses of more then 1 million dollars.
